Dear PRSA Silicon Valley Fam:

It’s fall and it definitely feels like we’re just getting started. I’m thrilled to share that PRSA Silicon Valley is out there accomplishing so much for you – our community – including distributing awards to our diversity scholarship winners, expanding our board and adding to our signature programs. We continue to demonstrate what it means to live our values.

As many of you know, we’re part of the Public Relations Society of America, the nation’s largest professional organization serving the communications community. It’s a national network of more than 30,000 communications professionals. PRSA also has an active student organization, the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).

While our Chapter of PRSA is named after a geographic location, we’re so much more than a regional organization. We have members and advisors from all across the country, including Austin, Los Angeles, New York City and Seattle. We’re proud that our #FridayForums have helped increase membership in and its chapters nationwide.  

The Silicon Valley Chapter is indeed a “state of mind,” bringing new strategies to connect and support individuals at all stages of their careers.  I hope you enjoy reading about how our community is pushing the industry forward. Scholarship News

Students are receiving PRSA Foundation scholarships thanks to our community raising almost $70K. Check out the interview with  one of our recipients, Lisha Li, a student at San Jose State University studying PR.

Board News

The PRSA Silicon Valley Board provides a network designed to build deep professional connections within a diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) framework.

Judith Cushman joins as a Strategic Advisor from Bellevue, Washington. She’s a member of the DE&I Committee as well as contributing to chapter initiatives and will be co-leading our sponsorship effort along with Board Member and RedPhlag CEO Gerard Corbett. Judith is also an active member of PRSA’s Puget Sound Chapter.

Board member Jeannie Entin is now heading Membership and will bring more of our community the full value and benefits of PRSA Silicon Valley and PRSA National.
